27th March 2009

The Club also sends further congratulations to our Ladies Team which has achieved a Cup Double this Season, for on Thursday 26th March, they beat Rottingdean Ladies 1 - 0 to regain the League Challenge Cup they won last season.

In a first half that ended goal-less Adur created the better chances but too many shots were straight at the keeper. The second half was much the same as the first half with one important difference, for about 3 minutes into the second half following an Adur attack one of the Rottingdean players managed to find the net and score the only goal of the game.

The Club sends its congratulations and best wishes to Justin and the Girls Under 11-A Team who have also won through to their League Cup Final on Sunday 5th April. In their semi-final against League leaders and up to that game an unbeaten Patcham United the girls managed became the first team to beat Patcham, winning the game 2 - 0.

In their final to be played at Palatine Park, Worthing their opposition will be Littlehampton Town Devils A Team - Kick off at 12.30pm.

The Club extends its congratulations to our Ladies Team on their achievement in winning the Sussex County Football Association Womens Challenge Trophy 7 - 5 against Littlehampton Ladies.

Having started the game playing some great pass and move football it was no surprise when the ladies struck first. Their continued domination throughout the first half, despite losing Hannah Lane who suffered concussion shortly after scoring, appeared to have little effect as the Ladies continued to add to the score line, and with the exception of one setback went into the break 5 - 1 ahead.

In the second half it was the turn of opposition to get into the game. Adur Ladies stopped playing as they had in the first half and allowed Littlehampton more time on the ball, and although limited in opportunities, it seemed that every time they shot at goal Littlehampton scored. With the end of normal time approaching Littlehampton were still trailing but managed to level the scores in added time.

And so to extra time. Adur Ladies dominated both periods of extra time but were unable to convert that domination into goals, that is until added time in the second half when two very late strikes saw Adur Ladies win the trophy they so richly deserved.

Our best wishes go to the Ladies for their League Cup Final against Rottingdean Village Ladies on 23rd March 2009.

The Club sends its best wishes and congratulations to our Ladies team for in consecutive games they have secured their place in Two Cup Finals!!

On Sunday 25th January 2009, in their semi-final of the Sussex County FA Challenge Trophy, the ladies beat Maresfield Village Ladies 9 - 2 to secure a place in the final that will be played at the County Ground, Culver Road, Lancing on 19th February 2009 when their opposition will be Horsham Sparrows or Littlehampton. The game is to kick off at 7:30pm.

On Sunday 1st February 2009, in their semi-final of the League Challenge Cup, in a match played in swirling snow, the ladies overcame Crawley Wasps Ladies 2 - 0 and secured their second successive appearance in the final of this competition, the final being played at Crawley Down Football Club on 26th March 2009 when their opposition will be either Rottingdean Village or Billingshurst.

Our ladies team would appreciate support from club members at both cup finals.
