Club News - 2008 | | U14 Cup Final Success |
28th April 2008
Congratulations to Jon Cooks Under 14 Team who, on Sunday 27/4/08, won the Arun & Chichester Youth F.L. Under 14 Invitation Trophy beating Arundel Colts 5-0.
In a somewhat one-sided game Adur took control right from the off, and with four goals in the first 15 minutes had the game won. They added to their tally shortly before half-time.
In the second half Adur played well within themselves but always looked capable of raising their game if needed.
The team have also secured runners up place in the leagues A Division.

The Club offers its congratulations to Paul Dunk and his Under 11 Team who, in winning seventeen, drawing two and with only one league defeat all season, won the Sussex Sunday Youth F.L. Under 11s West Division league title. A great achievement by all the boys.

The Club also offers congratulations to David Stenning and his Under 14 Team. With one league game still to be played the team have already made sure of winning the Sussex Sunday Youth F.L. Under14s, 3rd Division league title. In the 21 games played to date, the boys have won seventeen, drawn three and lost only one game. After being relegated by the League last season the boys have done well to win the division at their first attempt.

Not to be forgotten, our Girls Under 14s have shown great improvement this season and in so doing secured runners up place in the Sussex County Womens & Girls F.L. Under 14s West Division. With one game still left to play the girls have already won eleven games and lost three of the fourteen games played, and in the process scored 76 goals whilst conceding 27.

Congratulations to Paul Westwood and his Girls Under 16 team who have received confirmation from the League of their Under 16 League Title!!
With two games still to be played the girls have a nine point lead over their closest challengers Worthing Town who also have two games to play and, therefore, cannot be overtaken. A great run through the season, so far, has seen the girls unbeaten in League and Cup games who are hoping to add the Under 16 Challenge Cup to their League Title.

| | CLUBS FIRST TROPHY - SEASON 2007/08!! |

On Thursday 3/4/08 our Ladies Team won their second trophy in two years, adding the Sussex County Women & Girls Football League Challenge Cup to the Division 2 League Winners trophy they won last season beating Langton Green 6-1.
On paper Adur's opposition Langton Green were the firm favourites to win the Cup and a League & Cup double having already won the Division 1 League Championship but Adur's ladies had other ideas. They started strongly and dominated the first half going into the half-time break 3-0 ahead.
Early in the second half Adur's ladies extended their lead and it wasn't until the hour mark that Langton Green managed to find the net through a well taken free kick. Any thoughts that Langton Green might have had about getting back into the game were soon dashed when Adur added a further two goals without reply.
Well done ladies - a well deserved victory on the night!

Congratulations to Lee Harding and his Ladies Team who, on Sunday 9/3/08, followed the example set by the Girls Under16s the previous week, won their League Challenge Cup Semi-Final game against Maresfield Village Ladies 6 - 0.
The Club send their best wishes to the Ladies team for their Cup Final when their opponents will be Langton Green Ladies. The final is to be played at 7:30pm on Wednesday 3rd April 2008 at Crawley Down Football Club (see Team Record on website for full particulars). The Ladies would welcome support from all at the Club.
