F.A. Charter Standard
The Football Association Charter Standard is awarded to clubs who have demonstrated they have met required standards, that they are committed to raising standards and achieving excellence.
There are three awards:
(1) The Charter Standard Club that is available to youth and adult clubs, and requires clubs to demonstrate they have Good Management, Child Protection, Qualified Coaches, Fair Play and appropriate Insurance;
(2) The Charter Standard Development Club that stipulates a club must have achieved the Charter Standard but in addition must have a minimum of 5 teams and a development plan;
(3) The Charter Standard Community Club. This award is the pinnacle of the Charter Standard programme and, in addition to meeting charter standard criteria, such clubs must have at least 10 teams ranging from youth to adult, they must provide mini soccer and have boys and girls teams. In addition they must have a 3-5 year development programme.
Adur Athletic Football Club was the second club in Sussex to achieve Charter Standard when it was awarded the Charter Standard Development Club award in season 2001/2002. The Club was awarded the Community Club award in 2003/2004.
